Electromagnetic Filter
Built by Blade Air
The Problems:
1) HVAC filters are inherently inefficient, requiring direct contact with the media to stop particles from moving through the air distribution system. This means the particles build up quickly, causing a continual increase in fan power to push air through the filters.
2) Standard filters aren’t able to protect the building from smaller particles such as smoke, bacteria, mold, and germs, which can significantly impact the indoor air quality (IAQ) of a building.
3) Filters typically need to be replaced quarterly due to dirt and dust build-up, which adds stress on the mechanical system and requires significant time from the staff.
4) Quarterly filter replacements also mean significant storage of filter boxes through that facility, taking up space that could be used for other, more productive purposes.
The Product:
1 - Energy Savings: Electromagnetic Filters (EF’s) are designed to allow for airflow with a fraction of the pressure drop through the filters, reducing energy required to move air through the system.
2 - Indoor Air Quality (IAQ): EF’s are able to filter particles more effectively N95 masks, collecting airborne viruses, smoke, bacteria, and mold to substantially improve IAQ in a building.
3 - Maintenance Savings: EF’s are able to collect up to 8 times more particles than a standard filter, reducing the need for filter changes by 2-4X.
4 - Carbon & Waste Reduction: EF’s remove the need for cardboard housing, requiring less than 15% of the space to fill onsite storage boxes or shipping trucks.
The Competitive Advantage:
Sustainability can be defined as the long-term maintenance of ecological, social, and economic systems by meeting present needs without compromising future generations. Blade Air is one of the very few technologies on the market that provides exceptional improvements across key aspects of sustainability…energy efficiency, indoor air quality, waste, and carbon emissions
